Having put out a blog on the difference between beard oil and beard balm, I'm wondering what people typically use.? For me, it typically depends on the length of the beard. When I maintain a shorter beard, beard oil does the trick with keeping my skin and beard moisturized, conditioned, and nourished. As I grow it out more than 2 - 3 months I start finding the need to use beard butter or balm. The wax does a better job of weighing down my beard hair, as well as holding its shape. What do you prefer and why?

Thank you for taking the time to share. I agree. That has been my experience as well. My beard is shorter these days but when I grow it out I typically put beard oil on before adding beard balm. Depending on the quality of the the balm or wax, the oil seems to moisturize into the skin better. I also prefer balms to waxes. The waxes are a little too thick for my liking.
I've had a similar experience with beard care products, and it's interesting how the needs change as the beard grows. For me, when my beard is shorter, beard oil works wonders in keeping it moisturized and manageable. However, as it gets longer, I find that beard butter or balm, like the woodsman beard balm, becomes essential. The wax helps weigh down the hair and maintain its shape, which is especially useful for longer beards. It's all about finding what works best for your beard length and personal preferences.
